On Behalf of the Township Committee and the Township’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), welcome to the Township of Hanover. We are a community that values a business-friendly environment, while promoting quality of life issues that are important to private sector organizations, individuals and families who desire to make Hanover Township their place to work and live.
Hanover Township is conveniently located at the crossroads of Morris County and is easily accessible by vehicle, rail or air. At the hub of several major state and interstate highways, the township also has access to rail freight delivery and shipping with close proximity to passenger rail service. In addition, the third busiest airport in New Jersey is located in Hanover Township. We are the home of several major hotels and residential inns and within minutes of many shopping malls.
Hanover Township is proud to employ professionals who have the technical expertise to assist businesses and their families to settle, grow and develop within our community. While the township realizes the importance of generating revenues and maintaining a stable tax base, we firmly believe that it is essential to Hanover Township and the State of New Jersey to rebuild our “economic engine” by rejuvenating business and industry within our community.
Our Departments of Administration, Finance, Engineering, Planning and Building, as well as The Hanover Sewerage Authority are always available and willing to provide fast assistance that can put a prospective business owner on the right track. As a result, Hanover Township offers an efficient and friendly environment to help guide both families and businesses through the sometimes daunting relocation process.
Established in 2010, our Economic Development Advisory Committee is composed of a cross-section of professionals who represent the pharmaceutical, marketing, manufacturing, financial, transportation, medical and research sectors of business and industry. They are all volunteers who offer their technical skills, knowledge and expertise to help the Township formulate a proactive plan to enhance our community’s economic growth and vitality. As Mayor, I encourage you to contact us and get to know how we can help you answer questions you may have about our community. We are confident that your preliminary inquiries will provide excellent results which will hopefully culminate in the establishment of your business in our Township.
Our Township is a full-service community. We provide excellent police, fire and emergency medical services. Our schools are ranked amongst the highest in the State; in fact Bee Meadow School was recognized by the United States Department of Education as a National School of Excellence (Blue Ribbon School). In addition, our Whippanong Library is fully equipped as a full research facility with a wide range of resources, including internet access, family activities, best-selling novels, and audio-visual materials. Also, the library is home to the Petit Gallery which exhibits a broad range of professional and children’s work of art. Hanover Township also offers many leisure activities through its Recreation and Park Administration Department, including many well-maintained athletic fields and parks to accommodate the needs of our youth and private sector neighbors. Furthermore, we sponsor many cultural activities, including our summer concert series.
